This outstanding rendition of "You Don't Own Me" (originally released by Leslie Gore in 1963) was included in a blog that I posted on May 26th, but I found it so dynamic and stirring that I really have not been able to rest until I gave it the spotlight it deserves. She is powerful. This is an electrifying star performance, and the message of this song could NOT be more pertinent to our collective life struggles in 2023 as we battle the forces which try to control, conquer and literally own us. Oh hell no you don't. You do NOT own us.
